The model was fine. The last mile was the product.

The first automation I shipped inside the company added a step. The model turned messy intake into something a human could act on. Then we had to check it, paste it, and tell the requester it existed.

We saved time in the middle and spent it on the edges. The fix was boring. Intake had to land where the work already happens. The human check had to be one screen. If nobody opened it by noon, the loop was dead.

If the first version adds a step, it isn't shipped. It's a demo with extra meetings.
